It is an amazing place with all types of activities going on throughout the year.
If you’re thinking about living there, the population is about 42,000 or so and growing. There’s a lot of housing diversity. You can find townhomes, single-family homes, homes with lots of acreages, homes with bigger than usual yards, and new subdivisions going in with some of the top builders in the country.
There is a lot of new construction happening if you want a newer home. There are also a lot of older homes there that have been around and renovated and updated.
Things To Do in Columbia, TN
There is a Columbia Cultural Trail where you can do a self-guided walking tour of downtown Columbia and the Columbia Arts District. The Columbia Arts District is right off of the downtown square.
There are all kinds of artists and artisans that get together to create a contemporary creative culture, and there are all kinds of places to shop, coworkers, and co-work options in one building downtown.
Rowan Company is a very unique building that has a lot of various businesses that you may want to check out. There is a historical home – the President James K. Polk Home and Museum – that is a big tourist attraction that you can tour right off the square.
The downtown square actually consists of four blocks that were built on the south bank of the Duck River, and if history is your thing, there’s just so much to see. As far as transportation goes, there is a Murray County Regional Airport, and there’s also a Mule Town Trolley that you can take to get around the area.
